Sound Final

For out final sound project we were assigned to create a 5 minute long mixed media piece that combined sound with some other medium. Because I am a 3d animation major and the entire reason I took this class was to learn to make custom sounds for my animations I decided to use my 3d final animation from last year and complete redo all of the sounds for it.
Previously I had just swiped some music from the Final Fantasy XII soundtrack for it, but what I have done with the sound for it in this project is a HUGE improvement.
I really wanted to get the dark, creepy aura of the castle that you are walked through in the animation and the transition from the sunny day with birds chirping when you are outside the walls, to rain and wind inside the walls, to a strange, dark ambiance once inside. I feel like I was pretty successful with what I wanted to achieve, I am only concerned now as to whether or not it is experimental enough for Erik's liking, but I feel like too much beyond what I have done would have taken away from the face that the animation is a narrative piece and well... this is the sort of way that I will actually be putting the things I have learned in this class into use in the future.

...Oh god, this file is HUGE! I have to upload it to a different host because the others won't accept the file size. You'll have to deal with megaupload!

Project 7: Film Score

Project was to add sound to this video piece, M9 by Joe Zohar. Compiled in Pro Tools. Warning, this video is not safe for work due to use of artistic nudity. Unfortunately I was unable to upload to youtube due to that, but please don't let it discourage you from downloading, the video is fantastic.

Project 6: Penn Station Installation

Sound piece I made using only sounds recorded from Penn Station, plus sin tones, created and compiled in Pro Tools. I actually did this project a while ago but was unable to upload it because the site I had been using, zshare, seems to have stopped working correctly for me. So, the best I can do is put it on mediafire for you to download if you are interested.

Project 5 Abstract Sound TEST

**Click on link to hear sound**

Test/practice for Abstract Sound-collage. I kind of did it wrong it turns out, but hey, it's something and I'll go from here to change it by this Friday. I only had second hand info from my classmates on what had to be done because last class I was out voting so unable to make it and hear the actual project description which unfortunately wasn't on the class website either.

Sample Based Beat

--link takes you to download a beat I created by compiling drum samples recorded live in class

This one was pretty tough for me. I'm not sure exactly why I had so many problems, but I feel like there isn't enough variation in my beats and I tried but I just couldn't make myself completely happy with it. Maybe it's just me having listened to it to much though.
